After Sydney Sweeney revealed her collaboration with soap company Dr. Squatch to release a unique bar of soap containing some of her own bath water, fans were quick to react online.
The product, named Bathwater Bliss, is made with exfoliating sand, pine bark extract, and what the brand describes as “channels two of the best places on Earth: the great outdoors and Sydney Sweeney’s bathtub.”
Sweeney addressed the unusual concept in a press release, saying, “When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it, or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap.”
She added, “It’s weird in the best way, and I love that we created something that’s not just unforgettable, it actually smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love. Hopefully, this helps guys wake up to the realities of conventional personal care products and pushes them towards natural.”
The announcement quickly went viral, with social media users expressing everything from excitement to disbelief. Some users gushed over the concept and humorously exaggerated their enthusiasm.
One fan posted a photo of the soap bar with a circle cut out in the center, while another shared a meme of a soldier appearing to pleasure themselves.
Comments ranged from curiosity — such as someone asking if the soap is “safe to eat” — to over-the-top dedication, with one fan saying they would “buy the entire stock even if it means I have to sell my house.” Another user sarcastically scolded the hype, writing, “You people should be ashamed of yourselves,” before cheekily adding, “Is there free shipping?”
While the majority of reactions were playful or positive, not everyone was impressed. A few criticized the product, with one user bluntly calling it “f—— gross and disturbing.”
Bathwater Bliss is set to be released on June 6.
