Ronald Fenty, the father of superstar Rihanna, has passed away, TMZ has confirmed.
Sources with direct knowledge revealed that Ronald died in Los Angeles after battling an illness.
On Wednesday, Rihanna’s brother, Rajad Fenty, was seen arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Rihanna was reportedly in the vehicle as well, although she wasn’t captured in the photographs.
Rihanna and her father had a complicated relationship over the years. They were estranged for a significant period before eventually mending their bond.
In February 2023, Ronald spoke to TMZ and expressed his excitement over Rihanna and A$AP Rocky expecting another child. He said he was thrilled and looked forward to being involved in the baby’s life.
Ronald shared three children — Rihanna, Rajad, and Rorrey — with his ex-wife Monica Braithwaite. The couple separated in 2002, around the time Rihanna’s music career began gaining momentum.
Ronald Fenty was 70 years old.
