“My Heart Dropped”: Nara Smith Breaks Silence on Toddler Daughter’s Shocking Cancer Diagnosis
Social media influencer Nara Smith has shared the devastating news that her 2-year-old daughter, Whimsy Lou, was diagnosed with cancer “late last year.”
Opening up to her followers in an Instagram Reel, the 24-year-old began by acknowledging that there was “no easy way to say [it] or talk about” the family’s private struggle.
The situation unfolded after she and her husband, 28-year-old model Lucky Blue Smith, “saw something suspicious” on the toddler and rushed her to the emergency room, though the medical staff on duty initially “did not know what to make of it.”
The family’s concerns grew when they brought Whimsy to their primary pediatrician. Nara recalled that the doctor became “really quiet and calm” before strongly advising them to visit a specialized children’s hospital.
“My heart dropped in that moment,” Nara shared during the video. “I don’t know whether it was my gut telling me something or just a mom’s intuition, but the first thing that I felt was, ‘She has cancer.’” Her fears were confirmed shortly after arriving at the children’s facility.
“After a lot of X-rays, ultrasounds and finally a biopsy, they immediately called us and said that she had cancer,” she continued. “[They] told us it had spread and that she need[ed] to come and start chemo treatments immediately.”
While Nara did not clarify where Whimsy’s health currently stands, she candidly admitted that “processing this and navigating all of this as a family has been really hard.”
Amid the intensive hospital visits, the couple has been working hard to remain “loving and caring” for their other young children, which includes 5-year-old daughter Rumble Honey, 4-year-old son Slim Easy, and infant daughter Fawnie Golden, who was born in late 2025.
Lucky also shares an 8-year-old daughter, Gravity, with his former partner Stormi Bree. Balancing their massive online platforms with immediate family needs has proven to be an exhausting juggling act.
“Being in the hospital with Whimsy a lot and balancing work on top of that has been really challenging,” Nara explained.
“Some days are a little easier, some days are really hard, and all I can do is try my best and show up in all those areas in the best way that I can.”
The lifestyle creator noted that she has intentionally been “posting a little less” lately as they prioritize their daughter’s health, but she hopes that coming forward publicly will bring “comfort and alleviate the feeling of loneliness” for other families facing similar medical crises.
“We wanted to share this to … even incentivize you to go get something checked out that you’ve been avoiding,” she concluded.
In the caption accompanying the video, Nara expressed profound gratitude for the medical professionals guiding them through the dark time, writing that she felt “thankful for each and every nurse and doctor along [their] journey who helped [them] get through and out the other end🤍.”
